For the last eight years Andrew Taras, Info-Link's Law Enforcement Programs Manager, has strived to provide the best support possible for Ohio Law Enforcement Agencies.  Accomplishing this with limited resources was not an easy task which left him jumping through multiple hurdles to accomplish projects while trying to produce the best possible results.

The Law Enforcement Officers Toolkit (LEOT) was his project from inception.  There is nothing that he did not design or have his hand in the development of.  Although developed with limited resources, the LEOT provides a comprehensive records management system that works as well as the IT environment it is placed upon as well as the support given to it.

Having personally worked with and on computer networks for over 400 Ohio Law Enforcement Agencies, Andrew can speak from first hand experience that regardless of the application that is being ran or accessed, an efficiently running computer network is one of the most important cogs in law enforcement.

Working computer equipment and networks are a must for agencies to capture information, upload to OIBRS (Ohio Incident Based Reporting System) and share through OHLEG (Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway) or LEADS (Law Enforcement Data Systems).  Dated equipment and faulty networking hurts this process.  Not submitting data leads to lost federal and state funds.  Lost data effects public and officer safety.

Being that Andrew has worked with many of you on this, grant funding is available to update and maintain a working IT environment at your agency.  For years, he has safeguarded this process for Ohio Law Enforcement Agencies making sure that needed funding for equipment and services were provided at reasonable costs.  Companies attempting to take advantage of this have felt his wrath.
